Shortly after the break-up of the Soviet Union composer, musician, producer and sound engineer Alexsey Zakharenko from Kiev-Ukraine (his music is featured on this site) started recording Russian Orthodox Church sacred choral music and early christian worship music. Earlier it was impossibly to record praise and worship music in the communist and atheistic country.
In 1995 Alexsey Zakharenko recorded and released CD "All Night Vigil" -traditional praise and worship music of Kyiv Pechersk Monastery. It was the first authentic sacred choral music CD in the
Ukraine. Later he founded Origen Music - Ukrainian indie label focused on recording of early christian praise and worship music, Russian sacred choral music, classical, electronic, new age and Ukrainian music.
Since 2007 Origen Music started to promote new talented indie artists from all around the world. We hope that for all real music lovers, searching for not just big top-20 media stars, this site will be the right place to discover new artists, good music, rare CDs and certainly Ukrainian music mp3.
